I think that if any of you gentelmen would look at the states that have taxes similar o this plan then you would see the value in it. The more money people have in their paycheck at the end of the month, the more money they are likely to spend. When the government taxes your income, they get a % of what you make each month and take that money out of your pocket. If you have $200 more you can spend each month, the sales tax is multiplied when you spend that money. If we are spending more money, that means some company out there is making more products to sale. When they sale their products to a distrbutor and a store, there is a sales tax on that item. Then we buy it and it is taxed again. So in the long run, we have more money to spend and the government gets more tax money. Tennessee is an excellent example of using a tax system like what is proposed here. Their economy does not suffer nearly as bad as ours and they are able to attract more new business because it is more affordable and proffitable to do business there. As for services being taxed, so what. I have a ton of projects I want to do arounf the house and improvements I want to make outside, on my vehicle, etc. If I had $200/ month more than I do right now, those projects would be getting done right now, but since I do not have extra money and i am paying a higher tax on what I am buying, the people providing those services will have to wait until I can budget that money. Think about it.
