1) Lets beat the illegal criminals at their own games! [by Anonymous Citizen on April 13, 2008]
I have an idea , why dont we go along with letting corrupted greedy officials, like this one, give the illegals ID. Not equivilent to that of Americans and legal immigrants, but a special ID for illegals only, so that ICE and our police departments can get a lead on where these people live, and have a tool to track these criminals. One of the main problems facing ICE is the fact that illegals are untracable! They can change their names to suit the situation, get out of court appearances, tickets, paying bills etc.. all because they have no way of being tracked. Now that certain government officials are starting to enforce our immigration laws, I would think they would need a way to find them, besides us reporting employers who hire them, and businesses that do business with them despite the fact that they lack proper identification and a ss#. Lets give them ID on the pretense of helping them, then track them, hunt them down and deport them!

If this bill happens to pass, which is very un-likely, it will be voted down and repealed in the next ky legisature session. The Kentucky voters will not stand for any bill and legislation like this, especially for any illegals, who are really criminals in coming here illegally.

NO WAY , NO WAY AT ALL.These crinmals have no rights to a driver license or as far as i am concern they should not even have a right to own or drive any vehicles while in the usa. These fence jumping and climbing illegals and crimnals should never never ever be allow to have a legal driver license. We might could issue them a picture/photo i.d. card only , but no driver license.

You say that the americans will do the jobs of the illegal, i dont think so. do you realy think an american is going to be out there working 40 or more hours a week for mimimum pay, or is going to be out there in the horse farms, land and lawn scape companies.one of the reason why illegals have the jobs that they have is because the americans wont do it.

13) no drivers license for illegals! [by Anonymous Citizen on February 6, 2008]
At the rate were going there won't be a middle class left in a few more decades. Its all about cheap labor for the wealthy. Their sending all the
manufacturing jobs to Mexico. For all the rest they let illegal immigrants come up here and give them free medical care, food stamps, and now driving
privileges. Its basic supply and demand. If they have 5 people fighting for each job it keeps wages low and profit margins high. It's a sad situation!

So let's see, an illegal alien goes to a government agency and admits that he is here illegally. And instead of arresting him he is allowed to get a driving 'permit'. What's wrong with this picture?

15) You have to be kidding. [by Anonymous Citizen on February 1, 2008]
How are we as Kentuckians and American citizens allowing elected politicians to propose such legislation? Drivers licenses will only be the start I'm afraid. Why would an elected official propose ANY legislation that would benefit illegal immigrants. Here's a novel idea: If we find inidviduals without proper identification who are beleived to be here illegally send them back to where they came from. Immediately! That's a program I'd gladly support with my tax dollars. But instead these crooks in Frankfort put this kind of stuff out there. Call your representatives immediately and demand they vote no on 104.

16) Did you ever think... [by Anonymous Citizen on January 28, 2008]
Once again in this country, we are discussing the "unwanted" people who make up a population of millions of potential citizens. We agreed back in the '70's to allow that group of "unwanteds" to be slaughtered before they were born. This time we're saying this new group of "unwanteds" need to be sent back where they came from...to a land of poverty. They came here unknowingly making the Social Security base good in this country -- in other words, those first group of "unwanteds" who would now be paying into Social Security to fund the system are replaced with another group of "unwanteds" who mostly are paying into it, along with payroll taxes, that they will never file for, in fear of being caught in this country. So let's get rid of them, right? Not so fast, all of you who see only one side of the issue. How many of you had ancestors who came to this country...legally or illegally? Do you even know how they got here -- or why they came? My Irish ancestors were escaping a potato blight, and I don't know if they "got their papers" before they came or not. But I know they had a country that opened their arms to them, thank God.
I wonder if you ever experienced the inhumane conditions Mexicans experience in their homeland? Would you rather starve than try to cross a border to feed your kids, or your mother or grandmother and take a chance of getting killed in the process? Most of them that come into this country are good, law-abiding people (yes I said law-abiding). They are warm and friendly, and have a great desire to become a legal citizen of this country. Why are we refusing them this opportunity? I fear that in an attempt to "get rid of" this new batch of unwanteds, we will reap a harvest of poverty conditions in our own nation the likes of which we have never seen before. Please, let's put ourselves in their shoes, and do unto them as we would have them do to us.

17) Illegals know more than you think! [by Anonymous Citizen on April 13, 2008]
I live in Ohio and know of illegals who do infact file income tax refunds just like you and I!!They claim many dependants to pay out as little as possible, then they get earned income credits and child tax credits and get back thousands! They either happened to get(thru buying and stealing)
a good SS# or are able to get an ITIN number or a TIN from the IRS, explained on the IRS website at this adress:
http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/international/article/0,,id=96696,00.html#itin

Here is an excerpt from the IRS website page listed above explaining the ITIN:
Taxpayer Identification Numbers (TIN)

A Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) is an identification number used by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in the administration of tax laws. It is issued either by the Social Security Administration (SSA) or by the IRS. A Social Security number (SSN) is issued by the SSA whereas all other TINs are issued by the IRS.

Taxpayer Identification Numbers

How Do I Get A TIN?

ITIN

An ITIN, or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, is a tax processing number only available for certain nonresident and resident aliens, their spouses, and dependents who cannot get a Social Security Number (SSN). It is a 9-digit number, beginning with the number "9", formatted like an SSN (NNN-NN-NNNN).

To obtain an ITIN, you must complete IRS Form W-7, IRS Application for Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (PDF) . The Form W-7 requires documentation substantiating foreign/alien status and true identity for each individual. You may either mail the documentation, along with the Form W-7, to the address shown in the Form W-7 Instructions, present it at IRS walk-in offices, or process your application through an Acceptance Agent authorized by the IRS. Form W-7(SP), Solicitud de Número de Identificación Personal del Contribuyente del Servicio de Impuestos Internos (PDF) is available for use by Spanish speakers.

SO there you have it! Get educated ppl, illegals are getting bolder! They are coming to know laws and regulations, they are being educated by pro-illegal supporters and advocates on ways to get around the system!Start protesting and boycotting businesses that hire them and cater to them. Start reporting employers and landlords etc.. that hire and help them!Vote elected officials out of office that wont enforce our laws!

19) disagree [by Anonymous Citizen on February 1, 2008]
You just said "most are good, law-abiding citizens." I would agree with that. However this bill is not for those people--moreso, its punishing those people. This bill is for those who are illegal....and giving them priveleges that only those whom are legal should get. As we continue to diminish the necessity for citizenship and we continue to discourage those that are willing to go through the legal procedures to become citizens, one day there will be little reason to. And when that day comes our system will crush itself as a tenth of the population pay the taxes for the rest. Shame on this bill and shame on its supporters.

20) No driving privileges for illegals [by Anonymous Citizen on January 28, 2008]
If someone is here illegally, chances are, they cannot speak English or READ ROAD SIGNS!!!! For the safety of the citizens of KY, they should NOT be given any type of driver's license or permit. Secondly, if they broke the law to get here, why should we give them that privilege? What part of illegal do we not understand????

A FRIEND SENT ME A BREAKDOWN WHAT ILLEGALS REALLY MAKE AFTER FOOD STAMPS, HUD, MEDICAID, HEATING ASST. ETC AND THEN AN EARNED INCOME CREDIT IT COME TO OVER $35,000. I GET $432 A MONTH FROM S.S. AND TAKE CARE OF MY MOTHER. I CAN'T GET A JOB BECUSE I WOULDN'T DARE TO PUT HER IN A NURSING HOME. THEN I WOULD HAVE TO SIT THERE NIGHT AND DAY TO SEE THAT SHE'S TAKEN CARE OF. DEPORT THE ILLEGALS!!! This is a bad idea. It's more expensive and confusing to keep separate databases, especially for people who are in America illegally. I have a dear friend who is trying to become a citizen. She has to leave the country every 90 days until she gets a visa. She uses her foreign drivers license here when driving. This is how it should be. I urge all Senators to vote NO on this piece of manure.

Why don't they try to think of a way to help Americans? Homeless Kentuckians can not even get an identification card if they do not drive. Why not fix that first?

Are you kidding me?! There was a time when foreigners wishing to become US citizens were proud to be here LEGALLY and proud to learn the English language and become a true US citizen. It's about time we take care of the people who are here legally and to ship back those who are not and who want us to change to their standard instead of taking pride in being an American.

There was a time when I believed Kentucky was a state with people of common sense. No longer. As my grandmother would say, "He doesn't have the sense God gave a goose." Listen up, you idiots in Frankfort: Kentucky citizens have more sense than you and we don't want ILLEGAL immigrants in our state having a license to drive, swelling our already bloated welfare rolls, clogging our hospital emergency rooms, overcrowding our school rooms, bringing their gangs into our cities, or anything else!! Illegal is illegal--get that through your thick skulls.
