2008 House Bill 592 (Create two state wage-related tax credits )

  • Introduced by Rep. W Keith Hall on February 20, 2008, to create a state refundable Earned Income Tax Credit for low-income individual taxpayers who take the federal EITC and a state non-refundable work opportunity tax credit for employers who take the federal WOTC. The bill sets the state EITC at 5% of the federal credit for residents and 5% multiplied by the percentage of taxpayer's adjusted gross income attributable to Kentucky for nonresidents. The bill also sets the work opportunity tax credit at 5% of the first $6000 of income of certain employees.
