2008 House Bill 444 (Inmate organ donation program)

  • Introduced by Rep. James R Comer on February 1, 2008, to require the Department of Corrections to establish an organ and tissue donor program. The bill also specifies that the department is not responsible for any costs associated with organ or tissue donation and permits up to 60 days good time credit for living organ donation.

Sounds good to me. Make those who are a drain on society worth something! And the state is not out a cent. Great bill!!!

Hey, I'm all for voluntary and informed organ donation. But giving a prisoner 60 days off his sentence for giving up a kidney seems a bit odd.
