1) I'm For The Death Penalty [by Joe F on January 22, 2008]
If anybody murders somebody else, and there's no doubt they did it, then they should get death and I will go one step farther, it shouldn't take 20 years to do it, it should be carried out within one year.

3) Keep the Bill [by Anonymous Citizen on January 11, 2008]
If someone has the guts to take another persons life, they don't deserve to live themselves. They put cruel and undo punishment on another person and hurt their families. Why not kill them. What if someone murdered your child or spouse? What would you want to take place?

4) Death [by Anonymous Citizen on March 12, 2008]
Is death the answer for every crime? Why should someone take the easy way out and be killed? They should sit in prison and have to relive every day what they have done.

Keep the death penalty. If it prevents just one murder, it's worth it!

Keep the death penalty. If it prevents only one murder, it's worth it.

Why not? We do not use it anyway. Think of all the time people could devote to useful things

9) it needs to remain, but should be rare [by newmark on January 12, 2008]
Unless there's actually indisputable evidence, such as "20 people saw them do it, and it is recorded on video", the death penalty should not be used. Sanctioned killing by the state should only be used in the cases where there is indisputable evidence.

At the same time, these types of scenarios shouldn't require 187,000 appeals at the expense of the taxpayer.

Seems to me that it should exist, but used very rarely, and more streamlined in the cases where it does occur.
