It is about time! If we support this bill, we will finally have access to information about the nursing homes our loved ones are living in. We've had access via the newspaper to restaurant inspection results for years. It is about time the public had access to the results of nursing home inspections. After all, they are housing our elderly who are dependent on these nursing homes to provide them with good care. The nursing home industry is being paid by our tax dollars through Medicaid and Medicare. We are the consumers and have a right to know what we're getting for our money. This will be a good step toward greater transparency in health care. Contact your legislators and tell them you want them to support this bill. We owe it to the 23,000 Kentuckians living in nursing homes.
