Introduced by Rep. Stan Lee (R) on January 2, 2007, to provide that unless otherwise authorized or provided by law, all documents produced or utilized by the Commonwealth or its political subdivisions shall be in the English language only.

The proposed statute is a very bad idea. Government publications should be available in several languages. The purpose of government is to serve the citizens, not the other way around.

If immigrants want to be and live in The U.S., then learn to read, write and speak American English.
