Introduced by Rep. Jon Draud (R) on January 3, 2006, to place certain sex offenders on lifetime parole and provide the conditions of that parole. The bill would create a new crime: violation of the provisions of parole by a sex offender. The bill would require global positioning system monitoring of sex offenders and would require law enforcement agencies to attempt to locate absconded sex offenders. Certain sex offenders would be denied pretrial diversion, probation, shock probation and other forms of nonimposition of sentence. The bill sets various other changes to punishments and procedures associated with certain felony sex crimes.
