2006 House Bill 377 (Create a dental care fund from tobacco taxes)

  • Introduced by Rep. Thomas J. Burch on January 17, 2006, to create the dental care fund and appropriate funds to the Department for Public Health, Cabinet for Health and Family Services, from taxes levied on snuff and other tobacco products. The bill would require 50% of moneys in the fund to be used to provide dental and oral health services to children under age 21 years whose family income is below 250% of poverty. The bill would require 50% of moneys in the fund to be used to provide dentures to persons age 21 years and over who have lost all their teeth due to extraction paid for by the Medicaid program.
