Introduced by Rep. Rick Nelson (D) on January 3, 2006, to require that the State Treasurer pay death benefits in the amount of $75,000 when a member of the Kentucky National Guard or Reserve dies on federal active duty. Payments would be made retroactively to families of soldiers killed after July 1, 2002. The bill would make an appropriation in the amount of $1,050,000 to carry out the provisions of the Act.
